The Sharkie

This contest brings skippers together while traveling south for the Bahia Corinthian Invitational race the following day.  The contest usually starts at one of the oil islands inside Long Beach Harbor and travels south along the coast to the Newport Harbor entrance.  The ride is usually very comfortable and the upbeat spirits of the skippers is apparent from the radio communications enroute.

A reasonably direct course from inside the Long Beach Breakwater south to the Newport Harbor entrance.
Schedule:
No skippers meeting. Contest is run mid-day Friday. Awards are usually presented on Friday afternoon at the BCYC patio.
Moorage:
Slips at BCYC by arrangement per the BCYC Invitational contest instructions.
Observers:
Skippers supply their own qualified observers.
Dress:
Casual boating attire.
Additional:
Friday dinner available at the club.
